YLDP 2008

I wanted to update on YLDP but was too lazy.. lolz. I shall just talk about the activities we did there. It's gonna be a long one.. So here goes......

[Day 1]

Met at GMC sentul in the morning and waited for the bus that arrived at about 11.. So got in the bus and off we go!! Stopped at Tapah rest house for lunch. Then reached campsite at exactly 2.33pm. Mel guessed that we will reach at 2.34 and we reached 1 minute early!Scary but cool...
Then went in to register and all that. And they couldn't find my name tag! They asked me to take my file n sit first then later come back. Then briefing started and there was ice breaking.. And the we had to find ppl with name tags with diff braile alphabets. Then went to look for my name tag and it was in someone's bag.. Thank God. haha
Then i found out that I'm in the same group as Jonathan.. *wierd* And the best thing is i'm sleeping in the dorm! Mel's dorm was just next to the hall and mine was next to her's. lolz.. The others were in tents.. BTW, my group is Emerald.. Then we had team building. We went into the river and someone from each group has to get a fork in the water using their mouth. Then there was the 12 feet wall. So sad only get to play 2 games.. The 3rd one we were supposed to roll an egg with our head then get a paper from a basin of flour.. Luckily when it was about to be my turn it started to rain!! haha. so i escaped.. XD
Then wash up, dinner, praise n worship and plenary session.. P n W and plenary was really good.. Although there was a blackout at the hall we had it at the ampheteather.. Was a great experience.

[Day 2]

Woke up at 6 then went for prayer at 7.. The first session for lvl 2 was about knowing our own heart. It was ok.. Then during connecting time we were given assignments for fun night.. Each team had to make up a cheer.. We didn't really thought of anything but crap. haha. But then we decided to do a step dance. So i thought one of the parts i learned from Mel.. haha. Then later the next day (i think).. i thought of a cheer:
E-M-E-R-A-L-D
Emerald, that's who we are

But it sounded a lil wierd.. haha we thought about "emerald that's who are we" haha. Wrong but it rhymes! haha. then that night i had a great idea!!
E-M-E-R-A-L-D
Emerald will rock your world!
Yeah, we'll rock your world!

The team building on 2nd day was each team will have 4 feet, 2 eyes n mouth, 1 hand and 1 mouth.. All have to be blindfolded except the eyes n mouth.. My team did quite ok, except for the part where we were getting out from the hall.. haha. The other activities were the same everyday

[Day 3]
Woke up at 6.15
Everyday was about the same only the teambuilding and sessions are diff.. The session was about red flags which means 'DANGER'.. The speaker was ps Timothy Lam.. He came to my chruch's camp last year.. We were divided into 3 groups to act the story of David, Samson and Joseph... David's story was the funniest coz Nicholas Aw was Bethsheba..lolz
During connecting time, more assignments!! Each team has to come up with a sketch. Diff teams had diff tittles:
1. Selling a comb to the hairless
2. Selling aircond to Eskimos
3. Selling DVD to the blind and deaf
4. Selling curry chicken to someone in the desert

My team was the 4th one.. Our's are one of the funniest.. We had a really good idea. We had mirages, the seller will convince the person in the desert to buy by showing him a really really long list of ingredients and the advantages of the curry chicken.. lolz.
The advantages:
1. Gives u good complexion
2. The blind can see
3. The deaf can hear
4. The lame can walk
And finally he had to give away free water before he accepted it.. lolz. Then it ends with the dying guy getting the curry chic and the seller running away with the water..
The team building on this day was to do something with an egg so that when thrown from high up won't crack.. My team wrapped the egg with straw n newspaper with lots of celo tape and a parachute with the plastic bag.. And it succeded!! haha.. Many teams did parachutes as well but with diff designs.. The other assignment is we had to draw a logo for our own teams..

[Day 4]
Woke up at 6.30
We had a fun teambuilding this day.. It was something like a treasure hunt.. Everyone was like running around everywhere.. Funny thing is my team was so relaxed while others so tensed up.. haha
We also had another assignment to think of 3 things we learned during the camp and act,sing or dance it out.. My team chose to act which was the easiest..

[Day 5]
Woke up at 6.40
Notice the time i wake up is getting later n later each day.. =P
There was another session which was the effects of media. We had the whole day free till fun nite.. So we got to practice n everyone prac n did a great job for the night.. The night was supposed to be a palace team which didn't exactly worked though.. Coz all our performances were cut off in between.. Kinda sad actually, we prac so so hard for it.. Some teams din even get to perform..
Then at one time the king sent the queen away n got another queen n guess what, it was me! He asked for a fashion show from 1 girl from each team to model for our nametags.. Then he chose me which was so wierd.. Then he suddenly ask me, "My Queen, are u hungry?" When i answered yes, he will say i'm not and when i answer no, he said otherwise.. Swt........
The funniest part was when some of the helpers came out to perform the song I want it that way.. Everyone was laughing like mad. But overall it was not very good, many ppl said last year was better. At least we still did had fun during the camp.. So yeah, the final night was over... Everything passed so fast!!

[Day6]

Woke up at 7.15, skipped morning prayer.. Everyone in my dorm woke up after 7.. haha
It was like the last day of all other camps nothing special only we had the commitment where ps Dr. Herbert Tan asked if anyone is ready come out, take the mic, say "As for me, I will serve/follow/walk with the Lord forever".. I went up too.. Then we left after lunch when it started to rain and found out that our bags can't fit in the place to put luggages in the bus.. We all got wet before we got into the bus.. We still did had a fun time in the bus also.. Everyone was so active and noisy unlike last time when everyone was so tired they fell asleep like a few minutes after the journey home started.. lolz.
